Migration of SAP Workload
to Google Cloud Platform

We migrated the client’s SAP workloads to Google Cloud Platform, addressing performance issues and latency. The solution included high-availability (HA) for production, SAP-optimized instances resulting in enhanced performance, reduced latency and a 35% cost saving post-migration.

The challenge

The client hosted their SAP workloads on-premises earlier and seeks to transition them to the Google Cloud Platform. They decided to migrate to the cloud because they were facing performance issues & latency. Also their Dev/Prod environment were on the same server which leads to several issues like risk of downtime, difficulty in testing, compliance issues, data integrity risk.

The solution

We migrated the SAP workloads to GCP cloud which provides more scalability, durability, resilience & security to the workloads. We have separated the dev & prod environment. Lunched the prod environment in HA. In pursuit of performance optimization SAP-oriented instances are selected. Disks with high IOPS for HANA data and logs have been factored.

The result

Migrating SAP workloads to GCP has significantly enhanced performance, reducing latency, and ensuring scalability and durability. The separation of Dev and Prod environments minimizes downtime risks, improves compliance, and increases operational efficiency.
