Scalable Solution for JSP Attendance Portal

We successfully implemented GCP Cloud SQL to efficiently manage the client's database, reducing operational costs by 35% and ensuring seamless scalability during peak periods. The solution enhances performance, reliability, and data protection with a 99.95% SLA.

The client needed a solution to efficiently manage their database on PASS service to reduce administrative cost and effort. They required a system that could minimize operational costs as well. Additionally, the client faced challenges during peak periods, particularly at the end of the month, where they needed a scalable solution to handle increased workloads without compromising performance.

From a solution perspective, we used GCP Cloud SQL to dynamically manage the client's database based on the specific needs. Implemented a policy that schedule stop and start of the server at night & day respectively. To handle increased demand, particularly at the end of the month, horizontal auto-scaling is employed to ensure sufficient resources are available.

Solution resulted in a reduction in operational costs through efficient resource management and scaling, also provided seamless scalability by automatically adjusting resources during peak and off-peak periods, enhancing performance and reliability. Cloud SQL provided automatic failover and backups. In the event of hardware failures, data remains protected and available.
